Scandia Wind

Our Process

Scandia Wind is the result of many years of wind farm development in Europe. Our partners have been developing wind parks in a variety of challenging economic, political and technical environments with an excellent track record to support a model for success in the U.S. Our success in the developing a productive and financeable wind farm is based upon the coordination of the three critical components of wind farm development:

1) Development Phase

  • Early-stage community planning
  • Landowner compensation models
  • Permitting
  • Stakeholder meetings
  • Coordination of external consultants
  • Legal agreements including preliminary off-taker negotiations and Letters of Intent

2) Technical Phase

  • Site feasibility studies
  • Wind measurements including short- and long-term data correlation
  • Preliminary financial report
  • Micrositing
  • Environmental Impact Studies (EIS)
  • Turbine selection for power curve optimization
  • Turbine procurement
  • Full bank report

3) Financing

Scandia Wind will facilitate financing for all stages of capital required via our network of investment bankers, lenders and investors:

  • Early-stage development equity
  • Construction financing
  • Permanent financing

Project Managment

Scandia Wind’s project management team will coordinate our internal services with our regional consulting partners during the development and construction phases of our projects. The development stage begins with a site feasibility study and concludes with a full bank report for lenders and investors. Expert, detailed documentation is emphasized as we organize data with the understanding that the engineering data must meet the approval of the bankers.

Once a project becomes construction ready, the project management team will shift to installation and construction. This process will be managed internally and includes the coordination of our regional construction partners and consultants. Our team members have an excellent track record in terms of delivering projects on time and within budget.
